Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his unique mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. She has performed on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine has the name Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang as well as was a pianist. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan and has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become the mainstay of her live set. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls the stage show of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine came to national notice during the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
